All claims are published by financial year rather than calendar year as MSPs claim travel and expenses from the different provisions and these have set financial limits for each financial year. The financial year runs from 1 April to 31 March and claims are published on a quarterly basis:
- Quarter 1 – Claims made from April to end June
- Quarter 2 – Claims made from July to end September
- Quarter 3 – Claims made from October to end December
- Quarter 4 – Claims made from January to end March
